Marvel’s Iron Fist Season 2 (September 7th)

Look, we can all agree that the first season of Iron Fist was the worst of the Netflix Marvel series. On the other hand, I’m a sucker when it comes to redemption and with so much riding on season 2 I’m hoping they give us the Danny Rand we’ve wanted all along. Even if that isn’t the case, all of the Netflix Marvel series are closely entwined with each other, which means missing out on this could leave you in the dark when the next seasons of the others roll out. I’m on the fence with this one, but I’m willing to give it a shot.

Next Gen (September 7th)

Netflix original movies have been hit or miss over the years, but with the star-studded cast that Next Gen is sporting it’s going to be hard to pass this one up. The animated film tells the tale of a young girl who makes friends with a top secret robot who turns her life into a grand adventure. It’s a bit of a cliched plot, but I’m hoping it will be better than A.X.L. that pretty much featured an uncannily similar plot. Next Gen looks like a cute family friendly movie that parents will definitely want to check out with their kids.

American Vandal Season 2 (September 14th)

People love true crime series, which is why the first season of American Vandal was so brilliant. With a straight face, it dove into a case involving some very peculiar graffiti and turned into an amazing parody. It would be amazing if season two managed to capture the same lightning in a bottle that the first one did. Even if it doesn’t as long as it comes close this is one series I’m definitely looking forward to streaming next month.

Bojack Horseman Season 5 (September 14th)

I’ve of two minds when it comes to Bojack Horseman. On the one hand, it’s devastatingly funny. On the other, it hits a little close to home. It’s caused its share of controversy in the past, but I think it’s a brilliant portrayal of what it’ like to live with depression and have it drive you towards self-destruction. Needless to say, it’s a show that gives me the feels and one of the best original series Netflix has given us to date. I’ve been eagerly awaiting the new season and I’m glad that the wait is almost over.

Maniac (September 21st)

It’s been a while since I’ve had my mind blown with some good sci-fi, and Maniac looks like it might deliver just what I’ve been looking for. Featuring Jonah Hill and Emma Stone in the leads, it tells the story of a group of people who enter a pharmaceutical trial that hopes to fix the way their minds work. The trailer for the series though makes it looks almost like it took a note from Inception or Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Needless to say, this is a series I can’t wait to get a chance to start streaming next month.

There you have it, plenty of options to keep your streaming queues filled to capacity in September. I’d love to hear what new movies and series you’re looking forward to, and which of the suggestions above you can’t wait to see. So, sure to leave a comment below and I’ll see you next month with tons of new streaming suggestions.
